48, was granted his angel wings on Thursday, May 17, 2012.  His final days were spent surrounded by family. Andy had touched lives in small ways throughout his very memorable life. Andy’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.  His gentle smile and his suave ways brought so much joy to family and friends.  Although he was strong willed, he gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life.

Andy is survived by his son, Seth Andrew Hartigan of Revere. He was the beloved son of Primo and Joanne Rivera of Chelsea. Dear brother of Joanne Powers and her husband Steve, Lorilee McLaren and her husband Robert all of Wilmington, Antonio “Tony” Rivera of Winchester and Rachel Rivera of Arlington. He is also survived by nephews; Steve, Scotty and Shawn Powers and Joey McLaren, nieces; Jamilee Powers, Rebecca, Rachel and Katie McLaren, an aunt, uncle and several cousins.

A memorial gathering and celebration of Andrew’s life will be held at the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Tuesday May 29^th from 6 – 8 PM  Funeral Home fully handicap accessible, ample parking opposite Funeral Home.
