A professional machinist, he passed away on Monday evening in his Chelsea home after a brief overwhelming illness with his loving family at his bedside. He was 55 years of age. Born and raised in Chelsea he was the beloved son of Lois M. (Holland) Hutchinson, the late Eben Hutchinson and Alfred J. Gallant Sr. Al attended local schools and began working as an apprentice machinist before becoming a full licensed Machinist. He was first employed by Edel Brown and later went on to work for Middleton Aerospace machining aircraft parts. He enjoyed playing his guitar and was a Music aficionado. He was an avid Golfer, enjoyed fishing and spending his time with friends. He was never to busy to listen to their tales. He was a late member of the Revere Lodge of Moose and He was a past member of the French Naturalization Club and former bar manager there. He was also a former member of the Star of Bethlehem Lodge AF&AM and the Aleppo Temple.
His Funeral will begin from the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Friday June 15th, at 10:00 A.M. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway Chelsea at 11:00 A.M. Services will conclude with Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Welsh Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 - 8 P.M. Funeral Home fully handicap accessible, ample parking opposite Funeral Home.
He was the beloved companion of Joy Viola of Saugus. Devoted father of Nicole Lopez and Danielle Gallant of Chelsea. Loving son of Lois M. (Holland) Hutchinson of Chelsea, the late Eben Hutchinson and Alfred J. Gallant Sr. Dear brother of Donald R. Gallant of Chelsea, Lois Hutchinson-Stone and her husband Michael of Nantucket. Cherished grandfather of Alexzander Gallant, Mackenzie Vose, Aiden and Rylee Lopez and the adored uncle of Jaime Ferguson.
