At 78 years of age, he passed away unexpectedly early Saturday Morning at the Massachusetts General Emergency Dept. in Boston after suffering a major heart attack. Born and raised in Chelsea he was the beloved son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Bell) Lehmann. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served in Berlin from 1956 until his discharge in 1958. He was married to Nancy Ann (Welsh) and together they raised their three sons in Chelsea. “Buddy” was appointed to the Chelsea Fire Dept. in 1968 and retired in 1992, faithfully serving the Dept. for 24 years. He was cited for heroic and lifesaving actions. A lifelong Chelsea resident, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife in 1991. He was a charter member of the Chelsea Merritt’s Club and retired member of the Firefighters Local 937. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid Red Sox Fan.

Lehmann and his wife Kim of Chelsea, and Christian J. and his wife Cindy of Peabody. Cherished grandfather of Joseph and Jessica Lehmann of Tewksbury, Aria and Nicholas Jr. Lehmann of NH, Brody and Jonathan Lehmann of Peabody. Dear brother of James Lehmann of Sacramento CA.
His Funeral will begin from the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Wednesday June 27th, at 8:00 A.M. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway Chelsea at 9:00 A.M. Services will conclude with Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Welsh Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 - 8 P.M.
