Retired Chelsea Board of Health / School Nurse. Passed away on Sunday June 24th a the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett. She was 95 years of age. Born and raised in Chelsea she was the beloved daughter of the late Russell B. and Mary L. (Parziale) Moon. She attended local schools and graduated from the Chelsea Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, she also attended Simmons College and Boston University. During WW II she taught in the Cadet Nursing Program. She was a member of the Massachusetts State Nurses Association, the American Nurses Assoc., the Gov. Bellingham-Cary House Assoc., a charter member of the American Red Cross Nurses Assoc. and during WW II a member of the American Red Cross Disaster Corps. She was also a member of the American Red Cross Life Saving Service (Swimming). For 27 years she was a school nurse for the City of Chelsea. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Commander Russell F. Moon U.S.N. She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Charles T. (Martha) Pavlick of York, PA and Margaret A. “Margo” Moon of Palmer, MA and a Nephew Russell F. Moon, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, six grandnieces and nephews and 13 great grandnieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway Chelsea on Friday June 29th at 9:00 A.M. Services will conclude with Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours have respectfully been omitted.
