A longtime Chelsea resident, she passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years of age. Born and raised in Yorkshire, Bradford England, she attended schools there. During World War II, she married American serviceman, John P. Copello. As a war bride, she came to the United States aboard the Queen Mary in 1945. She settled in Chelsea with her husband and together they raised their family here. A loving wife and mother, she was devoted to her home and family. Clarice also spent time working outside of the home for Marsons Corp. and Gorins, located in Chelsea. She enjoyed playing Bingo, frequent trips to Foxwoods and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her Funeral will begin from the Cardinal Cushing Pavilion in St. Michael the Archangel Chapel, 91 Crest Ave. CHELSEA on Friday, July 6th at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Chapel at 10:00 A.M. Services will conclude with Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held at the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, CHELSEA, on Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M.
She is the beloved wife of the late John P. Copello, Sr. Devoted mother of Helen Fahey and her husband George of Saugus, Anna Marie Breen of Lynn, Joanne Ely and her husband Larry of Everett, Paula MacDonald and Reynold Difilippo of Revere, Patricia Muse and her husband Larry of ME and the late Catherine Ippolito and John P. Copello Jr. Dear sister of Helen of Yorkshire, England and the late Frank, James, Walter, Norman, Catherine, Jenny, Hannah and Sarah. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
